Per Erik Bjornsen studied architecture in Genoa (Italy) with Giancarlo De Carlo,Barcelona (Spain) and Oslo(Norway).Had some formative experiences at architecture companies as Mario Botta,Santiago Calatrava,the Municipality of Barcelona Spain (IMPU) for the Olympic Game and Renzo Piano Building Workshop for the expo 1992 in Genoa,From 1989 to 2004 he taught Architecture at several universities as Genoa,Udine and Venice.As product designer,faced all the aspects of material and products as furniture,doors,electronics,outdoor sportswear,pots,house-ware,kitchenware,outdoor mobile led screen and mobile stage on trucks for F1,auto scrubber-drier machine,bath furnishing and fashion leather accessories and many others.Design showroom and shops for Mc Person,SIM2/Brionvega,Tognana Porcellane,Johnson&Johnson Cosmetics,Renault Commercial,Mercedes Benz,L’Oreal,British Telecom,Halifax and Bilancioni.Since 2007 lives and works in Shanghai as Morph Design with Christian Vacatello cooperating for product design with many Chinese companies.Own different international patents registered in EU of new inventions.

Erik,意大利MORPH 设计咨询公司CEO，建筑学专家。大学时期在西班牙巴塞罗那和挪威的奥斯陆学习建筑学。作为建筑师，Erik曾就职于西班牙mario batta、santiago calatrava等着名建筑公司、巴塞罗那自治市奥林匹克运动中心，为1992年热那亚世博会建筑工作室以及 伦左.皮亚诺大楼的建设提供核心力量；作为大学讲师，Erik任教于热那亚、乌迪内和威尼斯几所大学，教授建筑学；作为产品设计师，Erik曾设计过各种类型材料的家具，包括门、电子、户外运动服、壶、家庭用品、户外LED屏幕、F1赛车上的流动舞台、自动洗涤干燥剂、浴室家具等等。Erik还为Mc Person,SIM2/Brionvega,Tognana Porcellane、强生、雷诺、奔驰、欧莱雅、英国电信、哈利法克斯银行、意大利Bilancioni等品牌在中国的公司设计陈列室和商铺。

Erik从2007年开始将工作重心迁于中国上海，目前与北京市、浙江省、广东省、台湾省及泰国、土耳其意大利许多公司都有合作，开展他的产品设计。在欧盟拥有多项个人国际专利注册新发明。

1. What let you enter the design field?
Oh, god. I can’t remember when I started to design. From my childhood, I drew then I studied architecture in school. So I follow the process to do design.
请问是什么促使您进入设计这个领域的？
哦……我已经记不得我是从什么时候进入设计领域的了。我在童年时期于学校接触并学习了建筑学，所以之后就顺理成章的进入了设计领域。


2. So is there someone who infect you with design?
Yes, that’s my mum. She is good at painting, drawing. When I was a child, I read a lot of books about art. As I grew up, I copied the paintings. And I went to school to improve my hand-painted ability, finally I went to architecture school. You know it is a very long process.
您能回忆起是谁启发了您对设计的热情么？
当然，是我的母亲。她非常擅长油画和素描。当我还是个孩子的时候，我阅读了很多关于艺术的书籍，于是当我长大以后，我开始临摹油画，并在学校生活中提升了自己的手绘能力，最后我进入了建筑学院，你知道这是一个漫长的过程。

3. How you define the work you are doing?
Amazing! All the time is amazing and a challenge. It is like a fight to do the things I have to do. But in this field, we should be curious about everything. Many people may think it can make a lot of money, but to me it’s my feeling from my heart, I like it—design feeling.
您是如何定义自己的工作的？
奇妙无比！对我来说工作就是每时每刻都在迎接未知与挑战。它就像一场战斗，我不得不去做一些事。只是在这个领域中，我们必须时刻保持旺盛的求知欲，有些人认为这个行业能为自己带来大量的金钱，不过我所追求的，是发自内心的“设计的感觉”。

5. What kind of work environment you prefer?
This one.
什么样的工作环境是您所钟爱的？
就是现在这样。
6. You designed it?
Yes, I designed all of this. The space I live in is according to my feeling. Sometimes I will make a little change. In this field, we need more imagination and inspiration.
您的办公室是自己设计的？
是的，我设计了每一个角落。我根据自己心中最理想的环境设计了这里，有时候为了制造一些新鲜感，我会在办公室里做些小的变动，因为在这里，我们需要想象力与灵感。

7. Then in what ways do you find inspiration?
Look around. Read some magazine especially female magazine like VOUGE ELLE. You can catch the trend inspiration. Design should follow the times.
您通过什么途径寻找灵感？
到处参观，或者看些杂志，尤其是像VOUGE和ELLE这样的女性杂志，我可以通过这些紧抓时尚潮流，设计必须与时俱进。

8. How can you find a balance between business and creativity?
Uh, this is an amazing question. Especially in China ,it is very difficult you know. Business is one way, while design is another way. In Europe, the architect is always right. It is a right idea that never be changed or changed only something. But in China, they always want two or three proposes to choose from. It is impossible for me, because if I have one idea, I won’t have more ideas about the same thing. So it is difficult, and sometimes finally you have to bend.
您在工作中如何平衡商业与创意？
嗯，这是一个相当好的问题。你知道关于这一点在中国想要实现尤其困难，商业是一种模式，虽然设计是另一种模式，在欧洲，建筑师一般只设计出一个成熟的方案交给客户，这种正确的方式从来没有改变过或者仅仅只是有些小的修改，但在中国，客户往往会要求你拿出两到三个方案供他们选择。这对我来说是不可能的，因为如果我对一个项目设计了一套成熟的方案，那我就无法针对同一个项目设计出其它的方案。虽然这很难，但有时你必须为此做出变通。


9. Then how can you handle with such problem?
We will drive the client to the right idea. Tell him one is nicer and another is just so so. Then he may choose the nicer one.
那您怎么解决您在中国碰到的这些问题？
我们会设计若干个方案，然后引导委托人接受我们的最佳方案，告诉他这个方案是最为可行且效果硬朗，而其它的则效果一般，这样他们也许就会接受我们的最佳方案。

10. Why you choose China to do design?
I like here. I from Itally, and China is not so different from my country. Shanghai is always fast which someway I like. I like stay here, I like the food, people and so on.
那您为什么选择在上海发展您的事业？
我喜欢这里，虽然我来自意大利，但上海并没有人们所想象的那样和我的国家相差那么多，我喜欢像上海这样变化剧烈的城市，我喜欢上海，喜欢这里的食物、这里的人们和一切。

11. Which is your most satisfying design work so far?
Maybe the chairs we designed several years ago. This is the product I like, it lasts for a long time.
至今为止让您自己最为满意的设计是哪件？
应该是我们前几年设计的一款椅子，很长一段时间里让我非常喜欢。

12. How you spend your spare time?
I have no spare time. I spend all the time in my office or meet my client. Sometimes I enjoy to do nothing if I have time, or drink coffee and visit museum or travel. But there is a lot of work to do. And I love to read.
您怎么度过自己的个人时间？
我没有个人时间，我把所有的时间都用在自己的办公室里或接待委托人。如果有时间，有时我喜欢什么都不做，或者喝杯咖啡、参观博物馆或去旅行。不过我总是有很多工作要去做……还有，我喜欢读书。
13. What kind of book would you like to read?
All kinds. I am hungry for reading. Web is not enough, so I need to read more.
您平时喜欢看什么书？
什么书都看，一有机会就看书。互联网并不能提供足够的信息，所以我需要阅读更多的书籍。

14. What is your greatest virtue?
Um, I have no idea. Maybe passion. Passion for everything I do, even the painting or some work. But I should catch the short time passion for one thing. So we do different fields of design.
您认为自己最大的有点是什么？
我想不出来，也许是热情，我做什么事情都很有热情，不论是绘画或工作，只是我的热情很难在一件事情上持续很久，所以我们为不同的领域进行设计。
15. If one day you do not want to do design business, what would you do instead?
Sell products.
如果有一天您不再从事设计，您会去做什么？
产品销售。

16. How can you be a good seller?
Passion.
你怎么知道自己能成为一名好销售？
因为我有热情。

17. Will you pick up any experience from the design job you do?
I have a lot of experience in my life. So it’s easy for me to change one field to another. Because the process to do the things is exactly the same. You need passion and need focus what you do. And you should insist what you think.
If you follow your passion, you will never make any mistake.

我在自己的生活过程中经历并积累了很多经验，正是这些经验帮助我能够在多个领域之间游走，因为任何事物都是有规律可循的，你需要激情以及一个明确的目标，最后就只需要坚持到底。在自己所钟爱的事业上坚持前行，你就终会有所收获。
